| This is the bigger brother of the classic, original, in-line fan. We have been using these fans effectively for about 20 years! At 200 cfm and 61watts it can certainly be considered a "green building", classified as an Energy Star product.
The FNTC-FR140 is an in-line fan with a thermoplastic resin housing. It's not effected by condensation or being mounted outside.* It has been specifically designed to move air through ducting, using a backword curved motorized impeller. Fans that employ a fan blade that looks like a propeller are great for moving air through a window. A typical, ceiling mounted bath fan has to be quiet because it is mounted in the living space, and that compromises its ability to move air through typical twisting, turning, flexible ducting so that its real performance is less than expected.
The FNTC-FR140 can move air effectively through twenty feet of flexible ducting without a serious loss of air flow. And because it is mounted remotely, the operating sound is removed from the room. The German motor is durable enough to operate the fan continuously. Use it with the FNTC-VT20M for a complete ventilation system that goes beyond green building standards and ASHRAE 62.2-2007.
*The FNTC-FR100 is not manufactured to operate with water running through the motor compartment or to be used in applications where the fan would be buried underground. |
